Dishonored DLC Delivers Daud to Dunwall

2012's brilliant Dishonored, got teased with some hints of an upcoming DLC yesterday. Now we know that it is actually receiving its first piece of story based DLC, in the form of 'The Knife of Dunwall', where you take on the role of the Assassin Daud, who featured quite heavily in Dishonored's storyline as a side character.

Arriving next month on the 16th, this content will cost you a not entirely unreasonable £7.99. The description for this plot driven DLC is as follows:

"After assassinating the Empress, and forever changing the fate of Dunwall, you embark on a search for redemption. The Outsider reveals the key to your atonement, but who—or what—is Delilah? Accompanied by the Whalers, your loyal band of mercenary assassins, your search will take you through never-before-seen districts of Dunwall as you face off against new and terrible foes. Employ a unique arsenal that enhances Dishonored's dynamic combat, mobility and stealth systems. In the struggle to hang onto the last shred of your humanity,  the choices you make will ultimately determine your fate."

The key features of this new storyline are going to be; new powers, weapons and gadgets, such as the ability to summon your Whaler Assassin allies in combat and variations to the blink power. Daud, like Corvo in the original storyline, has been visited by the Outsider, and so his powers will be quite similar if, by the sounds of it, a little more powerful.

You also get new areas to explore in Dunwall, including the Legal District, Rothwild Slaughterhouse and, of course, the Whaler's Assassins base in the Flooded District. One interesting aspect of this DLC which I'm really looking forward to is the chance to see the original storyline and Corvo's actions from a different perspective.

Dishonored will also be receiving 'The Brigmore Witches' DLC at a later date, which will conclude the Daud storyline started in this piece of DLC. I've got to say, Dishonored was a great game and definitely in my top five for 2012. I'm looking forward to this DLC and anymore they have up their sleeves for the future.
