Square Enix have released a blog post wrapping up a few loose ends from the Steam release of Final Fantasy VII. Particularly, it seems that they've been getting quite a lot of requests for Steam keys for all of the people who purchased FF7 from the Square Enix Store in the year of exclusivity. Unfortunately, it seems that - despite Square's best attempts to find a solution that everyone will be happy with - there will be no way to hand out Steam keys to those who couldn't wait for the Steam release.

They are, however, offering anyone who purchased FF7 from their store a month long 20% off voucher* by way of apology. The voucher, which is available for most products at their store and has unlimited uses until August 31st, stacks with any other sale or deal currently in progress, and can be shared with friends. All you need to do is verify that you purchased FF7 from Square, and grab as much as your bank account will let you. Have fun.
