Deus Ex Shows the Error of our Ways Again

Eidos Montreal have pushed back the release date for their upcoming sequel Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The original release date was set for the 23rd of February but is now set for the 23rd of August 2016. Their announcement was given with the following reasoning:
“- as we are now playing through the game in full we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations and refinement to meet our high standards. In order to achieve this we need to move the release of the game to August 23rd, 2016.”
The people hardest hit by news this are of course those who have pre-ordered the game. They have already sunk £40 into a product that they expected to receive within four months, and now will be waiting ten months for it instead.
It was only in September this year that Square Enix had the gaming community up in arms with the announcement of pre-orders for Mankind Divided. Square created their “augment your pre-order” system - with tiered rewards and even retailer exclusive rewards, this pre-order system quickly became the most hated pre-order system ever. The PR disaster it precipitated caused the publisher to rapidly back peddle on this reward system and finally announce that all pre-order bonuses would be available through a single pre-order purchase. Anyone who had purchased another tier would be refunded.
It is to Eidos Montreal's credit that they have decided to push back the release date in order to create a quality game, but we know that so many other publishers would not have bothered, Ubisoft and WB included.
Don’t pre-order.

Still waiting for the GOTY edition, no matter how much they polish it before release.
