Destiny Would Spread Bungie Thin
Since Bungie announced Destiny, there has been a lot of 'will we, won't we' see it on PC? Well the message coming out is to simmer down. Even though they are working on bringing it to four other platforms, the concern is that a fifth would just be too much for them and that it would have a negative effect on development for all platforms. Eric Osborne, senior writer and Bungie community manager gave the disappointing announcement.
"It's a huge challenge to ship four platforms and a massive opportunity to reach a new audience. We know there are a lot of people out there asking for PC and we know that there are a lot of gamers that would willingly give us money, but what we have to do is make sure we're focused enough to bring a good experience to any platform that we ship on. What we 100 percent are not going to do is spread ourselves so thin that it negatively harms the other platforms. So right now we have the four platforms, which is a lot to focus on."
Bungie's relationship with PC gamers has always been a bit niggly. While they did release their early game, Oni, their most popular series, Halo, has never really seen a concerted effort to release on PC. Now it looks like we will not see Destiny anytime soon either, if at all. Let us know your thoughts on this below.
