Looking to hearken back to the "crawling horror" that the original Doom conveyed, DOOM, the latest release in the massively influential FPS series is releasing worldwide on May 13th. This news is heralded by the appearance of a rather visceral trailer alongside it, featuring an appropriate amount of cinematic kills, shotguns to the face, and other gruesome experiences DOOM seems to be doubling down on.

DOOM is also coming with a horde of multiplayer modes, and some map editing tools available for both consoles and PC platforms. There's also a collector's edition of DOOM for sale that will run either $119.99, €129.99, or £99.99 that comes with a 12" tall plastic snarling beastie to serve as a decorative mantlepiece.
