DayS(an Andreas)

Though GTA: San Andreas never got any official multiplayer support when it released on PC back in the day, mods that allowed for online multiplayer were created only a few months after the game released. I actually took part in some of this multiplayer action. It was a lot of fun, especially playing on the RPG servers. You'd join the server and log into your account, then choose your class, and play as that class. You could be a robber, murderer, policeman, soldier, bodyguard... anything you wanted, pretty much.

Hell, you could be a rapist! Walking up to people, standing close to them and typing "/rape" in the chat would prompt a short text informing the "victim" that they had been raped by you. Sometimes you could even infect them with STDs, which would gradually drain their health if they didn't seek medical attention. What ensued after the rape, was usually the "victim" in question coming after you guns blazing, and your imminent death was just around the corner. Either that, or the police would take care of you, as all criminal offenses popped up in their database. Yeah, the mod was a lot of fun. It did a lot of things that most multiplayer games don't even dare touch nowadays. And no, by "things", I'm not hinting at the rape-mechanic.

Anyway, enough about that. Apparently, modding for San Andreas is far from dead, as you'll see in the video above. Someone has meticulously been recreating the ARMA 2 mod DayZ, into the world of San Andreas. Apart from the fact that the game looks different, most everything else from DayZ can be found here too. Including tons of bugs.

The question is, why would you want to play this? If you already have DayZ, while perhaps waiting for the stand-alone version? Well, I think we can all agree that at least the driving physics for San Andreas are quite a lot better than for ARMA 2.
