Cyberpunk 2077 will be a Straight-Up RPG
If you haven't heard about Cyberpunk 2077 yet, you've been frequenting the wrong places. Ditch those losers and come listen to me. Cyberpunk 2077 is the game CD Projekt Red will be turning it's full attention to after the release of The Witcher 3, and while we still don't know a lot about it, you can just tell it's going to be epic.
With that introduction out of the way, apparently there has been some speculation on exactly what kind of game Cyberpunk was shaping up to become. In an interview with IGN, CDP Red co-founder Marcin Iwinski said 'people have been asking me if Cyberpunk 2077 will have multiplayer or if it will be a straight-up shooter', prompting people who know the setting to collectively shout 'Why would you even consider this terrible thing?'
Rest assured though, logic wins out the day, with Iwinski going on to say 'I tell them to relax, because it will be a true RPG game.' He went on to say 'we are known for storytelling, and big game worlds, and so we're taking all what we've learnt from previous three Witcher games, as well as the open-world aspect, and applying it to Cyberpunk 2077.'
There will be some new gameplay elements, but Iwinski said that he's unable to speak about them at the moment. What is known is that we will hopefully be playing the sprawling cyberpunk RPG - presumably with everything that phrase conjures in the mind - sometime before the end of 2016.
