Cry Wolf or Cry Blood

Apparently we will "cry blood" if we decide to play the hardest difficulty in the new Wolfenstein adventure. Machine games are aiming for a tough experience no matter what difficulty you'll be playing.  "We want it to be a real, real challenge for people," said Öjerfors. "This is not an easy game. Of course we have the five difficulty levels of the original Wolfenstein 3D, like everything from Daddy Can I Play? to I Am Death Incarnate. So you can turn it down or turn it up if you want to. But like the default, normal setting of the game, it's going to be a challenging experience."

One would assume that to make things harder sometimes, you may get stacked with a lot of AI opponents with a much deadlier aim or greater strength, in muscle and numbers, but apparently this won't be the case. "It's difficult, but it's always fair," he said. "You're never really cheated. It's always your fault if you die." Interesting words, we'll just have to see how it all plays out. I'm hopeful they can pull it off and make something great. The game is still slated for a release later this year, though no solid date is set in stone yet.

Well, how do any of you feel about what's been said? Would you like something a little more challenging from the FPS genre?

I like mowing down enemies as well. Hate when they are bullet sponges though.

Lots of enemies is okay, as long as they're interesting. I mean, Last Light was pretty damn tough, with enemies that could easily have been considered cheap. But the way they did what they did made them just feel efficient, rather than being cheating barstools

I doubt they can do it without making it cheap. It's a shooter and the enemys will probably just have either "weakspots" or have a lot of hitpoints. If there are a lot of enemys though I don't mind.

Well, if the demo shown on E3 wasn't just a cheap piece of script, then I think I like their definition of a challenge :-D

My question is. Will it be challenging or just cheap?
