Creative Assembly, Meet Games Workshop

The Total War creators, Creative Assembly, are teaming up with Games Workshop of Warhammer fame to bring you video games based on everyone's favourite tabletop strategy game. Whilst this doesn't include the futuristic Warhammer 40k, it does mean that Creative Assembly have access to the brilliant world of Warhammer.

Creative Assembly's Tim Heaton, Studio Director, said that "We’ll be doing the Warhammer universe justice in a way that has never been attempted before. We’re bringing those 25 years of experience and expertise in extremely high-scoring games to bear, delivering a Warhammer experience that videogamers will absolutely love."

Honestly? If you were to ask me what the best Total War crossover would be, I would have said Warhammer. This looks like a match made in heaven, as the Warhammer franchise has always been about doing things large and extreme, Total War fits that perfectly. Apparently a new team within Creative will be handling future titles in this partnership. Any more details than this are scarce, but hopefully we'll learn what this new partnership will bring the gamer soon.

Oh god, just imagining a small group of Dwarves atop a hill manning artillery, while a huge rampaging Ork Waaaagh bears down on them... but in a videogame... I even enjoyed Mark of Chaos, frustrating as it was.
