Castol EDGE...The videogame?
Yo jurors! Castrol, makers of various forms of motor oil, have decided to enter into the gaming and VR arena with their new game EDGE USA Titanium Strong Virtual Drift. The game looks to be a racer of sorts where players can complete different courses and objectives from obstacle courses, to standard racing, to escaping the end of a dying world. The graphics look pretty epic and...wait a damn minute, that’s not what’s going on here at all is it?
Nope, it’s a commercial but not for a game. Now I know what you might be thinking, “man that’s a slick high performance car they're advertising!”. Nope. Maybe you’re thinking “wow, they’re really selling the potential for VR devices!”. If they are it’s a side effect. No jurors, this is just a motor oil commercial. In other words this pretty interesting commercial with the sexy car and equally sexy idea of VR tech is about the most uninteresting thing in the video...the oil in the engine of the real car you’re paying attention to less than half the time because you’re looking at the VR bits in awe most of the time. Yeah, all of this is possible because of the...motor oil
Ummmm, awesome? Yeah, sign me the **** up. If that oil can make my little old Sentra do half of that it’s worth its weight in gold.
