Capcom Announces Fan-made Game

Capcom recently announced on its blog that in celebration of Mega Man's 25th Anniversary, it was releasing a free downloadable game on December 17th. Street Fighter X Mega Man is essentially an 8-bit crossover of both franchises, where Mega Man battles the various characters from the Street Fighter genre in the classic style of the game.

Interestingly, this game was created by a fan, Seow Zong Hui, a Singaporean competitive player who approached Capcom with a prototype of the game at EVO 2012. Capcom then took it, saw the "potential and serendipitous opportunity", and decided to release it as a celebration of both the franchises and Mega-man's anniversary. More details on the game will follow as they are released by Capcom.

Maybe it's a bit harsh of me to say so, but it IS a lot easier to give away a game for free when they didn't exactly make it...

That's nice of Capcom, the company with unlockable DLC from the DVD...
