Capcom Announce Something Special - a Loss

It is no secret that Capcom have had a tough time as of late. Now due to restructuring and sale figures below expectations, Capcom reduced its profit forecast by 50 percent. The company did expect ¥6.8 billion ($65 million), but now they have revalued at ¥3.3 billion ($32 million). These calculations are for the fiscal year ending March 31 2014. The profit pummelling starts with “Structural Improvement” costing a hefty ¥9.3 billion ($90.1 million).

In the forecast note Capcom said: "Due to rapid changes taking place in the market for games, Capcom is building a sound base for earnings by reorganizing the product development framework and improving development processes. These are two core elements of the company's operations.” For those who might be reading this and wondering what they are talking about - they are going to try and make good games on a tighter budget.

They also went on to say: "The objective of these activities is to earn consistent earnings in each fiscal year. However, these initiatives have not yet started to produce benefits mainly in the Mobile Contents."

Capcom also notes that the main reason for the loss was failed mobile content and Monster Hunter Frontier G. I believe that the mobile stuff is the biggest drain, as they are not sure how to manage the platform properly. Let us know your thoughts.
