Blizzard Details Diablo III PvP Status
If you've kept up with Diablo III, then you know that everyone is eagerly awaiting the addition of PvP to the dungeon crawler game. While in Diablo II you could duel other players, PvP wasn't supported beyond that. Diablo III plans to have arenas for players to meet up and massacre each other.
Blizzard released an update on how things are coming along for the planned team deathmatch mode. So what's the holdup? It seems that Blizzard, and the many fans who've had a chance to play it, doesn't think it's good enough yet.
"We've brought a lot of people in to try out Team Deathmatch and, while some found it entertaining, most of our testers didn't feel like it was something they'd want to do beyond a few hours. Without more varied objectives, or very lucrative rewards, few saw our current iteration as something they'd want spend a lot of time in."
While Blizzard goes back to the drawing board they aren't leaving the players with nothing. They plan to add duelling to the game with the 1.0.7 patch. The patch is set to release early next year. So like all things from Blizzard, it's going to take some time before we get anything. Thankfully it's usually worth the wait.
