It’s been rumored for a while now that Bioware has been thinking about doing a new Mass Effect. However, it seems now they are in full-fledged development mode on the new game that won’t be a mobile or handheld spin off and won’t feature Shepard. While still in its early stages of development, BioWare is looking to its community for feedback on what they would like the game to be according to Casey Hudson’s Twitter.
Some suggestions include space combat (@sigmarue), “something like Wing Commander Privateer” (@phoenix_blue), “no combat. Only conversations” (@powerllama), and “more cowbell!” (@rogxue).

Yes but they said the ENDING of Mass Effect. Regardless of Shepard being in it or not, as long as it is called Mass Effect, it's a Mass Effect game and thus they lied, as we all knew once we saw the actual ending :P

This news doesn't surprise me at all, considering the fact they said ME3 would be the epic conclusion to the franchise and then it turns out the ending was anything but an epic conclusion - and instead was an open-ended ending to allow for sequels... At that very moment I knew we would see a new ME game for certain.

I want to see a space strategy title set in the Mass Effect universe. Imagine controlling a human or Turian fleet, taking the fight to Geth or Collector ships. You could have Salarians as well. And a custom battle mode where you could do Humans Vs Turians. Lots of ship classes, upgrades, abilities, all real time strategy.
