Beware The Light
We've previously covered Child of Light and now more illuminating (very witty ~ed) details about it have been come to light at Ubisoft's Digital Days event. The project is being handled by a small team at Ubisoft Montreal and it is being developed on Ubisoft's UbiArt Framework. UbiArt is particularly interesting because it allows game concept are to be inserted into the actual game, giving the project the look and feel of an interactive painting. Ubisoft's creative director, Patrick Plourde, said:
"Ubisoft's strengths include its diversity and the freedom it gives its creative teams. We want Child of Light to be like a playable poem, a love letter to art and video games."
Child of Light has players take on the role of young princess Aurora as she travels through the distressed kingdom of Lemuria, attempting to restore balance and return home. The Black Queen has taken the moon, the stars and the sun and it's up to you to restore the light. The game features classic, JRPG-inspired, turn-based combat and through these fights Aurora must face her darkest fears. Players can either play alone or have another player join them as Aurora's firefly companion Igniculus. Check out our gallery and the trailer above.
Child of Light should see release sometime in 2014 on PC as well as current and next-gen consoles.
