Bethesda Drops The Information Bomb On Fallout 4

With the “Big One” dropping just over a month from now, it’s hard not to get excited. Some of you out there have been asking this for a while now; “Can I run it?” or “Should I upgrade?” The bane and blessing of PC gaming, and finally we have your answer!

Minimum

Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)
Intel Core i5-2300 2.8 GHz/AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0 GHz or equivalent
8 GB RAM
30 GB free HDD space
NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or equivalent

Recommended

Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)

Intel Core i7 4790 3.6 GHz/AMD FX-9590 4.7 GHz or equivalent

8 GB RAM

30 GB free HDD space

NVIDIA GTX 780 3GB/AMD Radeon R9 290X 4GB or equivalent

Just having read over the requirements myself, I’m a little in awe. For the first time in a long time, I don’t meet the recommended requirements… I’m just shy on the CPU, but it’s a little bewildering to see that again...

Anyways, I’m sure you want to know when the soonest you can play is, right? November 10th is the magical day for most of us, releasing nearly worldwide at 12:01am in your respective locations. North America will see it specifically at 12:01am EST, Asia’s localization will drop 12 am on November 11th, and Japan get the early Christmas present of December 17th midnight. “So many locations, what about the language?” you may be asking, or more likely not. And to that I say:

  • North America: English and French voice/text
  • South America: English voice/text as well as Brazilian Portuguese and Latin American Spanish text
  • UK, Australia, and New Zealand: English only
  • European Territories: English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish voice/text
  • Russia and Poland: English voice/text as well as Russian and Polish text
  • Asia: English voice/text and Traditional Chinese text
  • Japan: Japanese only

Like controllers? Fallout 4 will be compatible with Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers out of the box. Steam achievements? You bet! What about that Pipboy app? Unlike Metal Gear Solid V’s companion app, this will be compatible with the PC game! (shots fired, pew pew) The app will be available the same day as the game and if you’ve bought the physical pipboy, you can expect the following phones to fit in it: iPhone 4/4s, 5/5s, 6/6s, Galaxy S3, S4, and S5 will fit by default, but also includes a customizable foam that should allow most other phones to fit as long as they’re not too big. How thoughtful!

And on one final note, we’ll remind you that if you pre-order a physical copy of the game (Standard or Pip-boy Edition) you’ll receive a swanky Perk Poster! Now unfortunately I must conclude this broadcast, but keep your radios tuned. We’ll have more coverage on this soon.
