Any Total War fans out there? You know those DarthMods in most of the Total War series that made quite a lot of adjustments for realism and added in some custom units? Well if you were a fan of Thomas's mod compilations then you may be glad to know that he has decided to develop his own game for PC and tablets!

"There were things that I could not deliver to players as a modder," writes creator Nick Thomadis. "That is why I decided to develop my own strategy game..." He notes that some of the designs he has in mind that he'd love to implement include autonomous AI and reducing the need for micromanagement for units to focus more on the battles. He also wants to implement a system that affects whatever way you've used your armies in the past may determine what your future battles are presented as. He also notes that he is aims to create "one of the most complex morale systems ever created." He also explains his idea for the scope and difficulty of the gameplay that "You should not require a tutorial or a big manual to play the game but you will be able to understand progressively how the "inside" complex mechanics work."

Thomas also wants to aim for the game to be as historically relevant as possible and ensure authenticity of the setting and map by detailing real locations around Gettysburg and also the surrounding areas of towns, this includes important points of interest and places where the biggest skirmishes happened. If the game proves to be successful, people can expect more from the series in other war time settings and time periods, but again this depends on if it is well received which is far too early to judge.
