Become Initiated in Assassin's Creed
In preparation for what presumably will be the announcement of the next Assassin's Creed title, the site AC Initiates has been affected by the events in Assassin's Creed 3 that occurred on December 21st 2012. Initiates originally was an official Ubisoft community website that was created along with the launch of the first Assassin's Creed game. And now we can thank SirNinja on the Steam forums for spotting the changes on the site, he also has a detailed walkthrough and information about what is going on.
"Shortly after the events on December 21, however, the entire site went nuts. A thinly-disguised countdown timer appeared in the form of a resynchronization bar, filling up very slowly (1% per day). However, after it reached 20%, a new feature appeared on the site: users can decode and answer a "query" about the series to speed things up, if only a little (increasing it by 2% per day instead). There will be a new query each day until the bar fills."
In simple terms though, it is a form of puzzle solving – community driven promotion. The site used to be an official Ubisoft site for the Assassin’s Creed fan base, but after December 21st it mysteriously went haywire. Now it has questions, which become harder with each day. As more users correctly solve the questions, the process becomes slightly faster with the synchronisation bar filling faster.
Whatever the mysterious site will reveal, it can only be good news for Assassin’s Creed fans. Perhaps the title of the next Assassin’s Creed game?
