Ahh, Australia. Will we ever not be able to pull a quick news post out of your ratings hijinks? Even with the R18+ rating made it's debut at the beginning of 2013, we here in the Land of Oz have been waiting a long time for re-rated (and hopefully uncensored) copies of games that were previously cut down (or flat out banned).

For one of those games, the wait is over. Left 4 Dead 2, which previously had a few of the 'more violent' features (dismemberment, corpses remaining indefinately, etc) cut out for release on Australian shores, has been officially re-classified as of the 29th of August 2014.

Valve, speaking to Kotaku, have said that they will be working on rolling out an update that will unlock the full version of the game, and will be making an official announcement soon. While it might not seem like a big deal to the rest of you, it feels like a refreshing victory for us Aussies, and I may even be revisiting the game now that I can have the experience the developers intended me to have.
