Assassin's Rings

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is a new Open world RPG by Monolith Productions. The player plays as a ranger with Wraith-like abilities by the name of Talion. The game is set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings and although the story is said to be not a part of The Lord of the Rings canon, Warner Bros. maintains that the stories will align.

The game also  makes use of a new (and exciting) system called the Nemesis System which remembers the player's interactions with specific types of characters they will encounter in the game and adjusts the manner in which these characters will react to the player throughout the game, this promises to keep individual play through unique to your decisions.

Some of you with a keen eye may notice similarities between what is show in the trailer and a certain other game about a brotherhood of assassins. Some people have criticized the game for that, but hey, if Shadow of Mordor takes the good parts of the Assassin's Creed series, mixes it with some good old lord of the rings lore and sprinkles in some new features such as the Nemesis System. I will personally be one happy chappy.

wow, great graphics. I hope it won't turn out to be yet another rushed Lord of the Rings game... :(

Anyone know if there will be multiplayer/co-op?

Even if its taking obviously clear inspiration from Assassins Creed and the Batman Arkham series, that doesn't mean it's a bad thing, if you enjoyed them immensely, and wanted a different setting, then this is fantastic news.

I would wait before I get excited, broken promises are quite common.

I know I shouldn't. I really, really shouldn't.

But...

I'm starting to buy in to the hype. I'm starting to believe the promises.

Please Monolith. Please!

Don't fuck it up!
