Assassin’s Creed 3 PC Launch Delayed
Assassin's Creed 3 PC Launch Delayed

Ubisoft has recently announced that the PC version of Assassin’s Creed 3 will once again get the same treatment as all other Assassin’s Creed games have on the PC platform, namely a one month launch delay after the console launch.
Assassin’s Creed 3 will launch on October 31st on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Roughly, a month later on November 23rd it will be released for PC.
While this time no reason has been given, previously Ubisoft have blamed the PCs complexity and piracy for its exclusive delay on the PC platform. The first Assassin’s Creed was delayed by 6 months as Ubisoft wanted to add more features to it. Assassin’s Creed 2 was delayed on PC because Ubisoft wanted to polish it out more. While Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood was delayed on PC due to piracy; by delaying the PC launch, Ubisoft wanted to avoid the game’s PC piracy to diminish its console sales.

Reminds me of that GameSpy interview:
http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/assassins-creed-2012/1221571p1.html
GameSpy: So when's the PC release date?
Ubisoft PR: October 30th.
GameSpy: Yeah, but when's the real PC release date?
Ubisoft PR: It's October 30th.
GameSpy: Uh huh. And can you say that with a straight face?
Ubisoft PR: You can ask me as many times as you like, but the answer will be the same.
GameSpy: Very well, let's move on. So, when will you announce the delay of the PC version?
Ubisoft PR: ...

Yeah, expected this. Will pick it up when on sale like I did with Revelations.

@Neon : It's probably a good thing I've nominated myself the official propo...spokes person for the series then aye?
:p

@NeonAnderson: I disagree because the beauty of the series is in the concept of the Animus, allowing Desmond to essentially delve back in time as one of his ancestors. The possibilities because of that are, in my opinion, endless. The biggest draw for me with all of the games is the historical settings if you're wondering. But I think even from a gameplay perspective that the settings help draw the games apart from one another as new technology and ideas are made in history. Anyway, 2 is my favourite probably because I love Italy so much but this third game looks incredible so far so, delay or not, I cannot wait.

ACB did a lot more than AC2 did and AC2 was a big step forward from AC1. ACR however, just didn't add all that much. That being said it still is a great game that I will get around to finishing sooner or later :P
After so many AC games though I just can't keep on them so long anymore before getting bored. Afterall assassination is cool and all but when you've done it for the 9000th time... well yeah... it kind of loses its coolness and slowly becomes a chore.

I consider ACB superior to AC2 in a lot of ways. ACR is better than ACB but not by a lot...

@Stunt Thank god! I have only played AC1 and AC2, never finished the first but two was awesome. I ignored the rest but AC3 looks to be a good way to get back into the series, can't wait!

yes AC1 was DX9, 10 and 10.1, others were only DX9. AC3 will fortunately support DX11. Yeeey for that.

Am I right in thinking that only Assassins Creed 1 ran on a newer version of DX, the subsequent instalments ran on older versions? Do we know what kind of PC features III has yet?
