Prey was a game about a Native American (I miss the days when I could write "indian") getting kidnapped by an alien mothership and saving Earth with guns and spiritual powers. Prey 2 was promised to be about alien bounty hunting, but it's on hold.

Eventually came rumours that Arkane (Dishonored) took over the game from Human Head studios...until Bethesda's Pete Hines gave Rock, Paper, Shotgun a resounding rebuttal: no.

Wow. That's surprisingly little in the way of dodging the question.

"No," he told RPS when asked if Prey 2 has moved from Human Head to Arkane's human hands.

"All of that stuff, I have no idea where it came from. The Human Head Prey 2 thing is the Human Head Prey 2 thing. Arkane is over here, and they're doing their thing, and that's for them to work on. We'll be ready to talk about what they're working on when it gets closer to release."

Article goes on about that even more. But the gist is: we need quality and you won't get a game until we get that. Maybe they want to make it into a sort of space Skyrim (in the way of fame and awards, not lame internet memes). We can only hope so. Sci-Fi fans always get the short end of the stick when it comes to cinema and video games.
