APB Kickstarting a New Game
Unless you're one of the few people who bought the original All Points Bulletin, or one of the people who ended up with the free to play reworking, you may not be aware of the game which killed its developer - Realtime Worlds. It was essentially an MMO third person shooter that pitted vigilantes against criminals, and ended up being released with a multitude of problems that I'm sure someone will bring up in the comments. But the developers haven't given up! Reloaded Productions, the indie developer formed from the wreckage of Realtime Worlds, has launched a Kickstarter campaign seeking to spawn a reimagining of the game.
Titled APB: Vendetta, this new game seeks to be a 'character-driven extreme mobility competitive shooter...built on an entirely new high-agility game system featuring 'extreme movement mechanics, melee combat, dual wield weapons, character-specific finishing moves, a fighting-game ethos, customizable private servers, modding tools and an upgraded game engine using the latest (2013) version of Unreal 3.' It takes its cues from old Half-Life mods like The Specialists, and the movement mechanics in Mirror's Edge to create a parkour FPS where you run up a wall, jump off and stab a guy in the face. But enough of the sales pitch - everything you need to know so far (and the option to give them your money), can be found on the Kickstarter page.
