Adapt To Episode 2 in January 2014

As I'm sure you well know by now, ARMA 3 went ahead and launched without its singleplayer campaign back in September. I'm sure the looming threat of not being able to finish it up before the autumn heavy hitters started coming in like a, uh, wrecking ball, was too much for Bohemia to risk. As a result, they instead opted to boot the game out the door, and then release the singleplayer campaign (called "The East Wind") in three smaller episodes. The first of which, titled Survive, is already out, and now the second one has been announced.

The second episode is called Adapt, and is set to release on January 21 next year. Though the first episode focused mainly on basic infantry combat, Adapt will take a few steps further. Jaroslav Kasny of Bohemia Interactive sums it up:

"Players will find more open and unorthodox scenarios, and with the help of guerrilla warfare, set out to defeat a much stronger enemy."

Sweet! In addition, we'll be getting a content patch soon, which is completely free of charge.

"Before the upcoming holidays, ahead of the second episode's launch, Bohemia Interactive will already be releasing the episode's new sandbox content. Included in this (free) package are 3 additional vehicles for the Altis Armed Forces faction. The Wy-55 Hellcat helicopter has previously seen action with the British Armed Forces, and now provides a maneuverable and armed aerial reconnaissance platform for the AAF. The FV-720 Mora is a tracked Infantry Fighting Vehicle best employed in combined arms warfare. Last but not certainly least, we find the fully new MBT-52 tank, brought in to the round out the faction's war fighting options."

We'll also be seeing some new weapons, attachments and equipment in the update - such as IR grenades. It'll update your Steam version of the game automatically, come December 11th.
