I'm fighting you see, fighting a rather terrible urge at the moment. NO, NOT THE URGE TO SEXUALLY RAVAGE A CLOSE FAMILY MEMBER YOU LECHEROUS CREEP! The urge to actually--URGGHH—admit that a Call of Duty game has managed to breach the outer walls of my interest! There, I said it!
Rumor has it that upcoming Infinity Ward-developed Call of Duty: Ghosts will include a mode called 'Extinction' which deals with the controlled elimination of the vilest creatures in the entire universe of fiction...ZOM—wait I mean ALIENS! A gallery of images leaked at Imgur by a user named SMTKZ show menu screens, UI elements, a few blurry in-game screens, challenges and of course the extra-terrestrial terrorists in question. The images line up with the hints from the recent clip uploaded on Call of Duty's Instagram profile (sigh...) of the Ghosts insignia slowly morphing into an alien-like shape.
While the hipster-cynic in me deduces that this will just be Treyarch's stupid-popular Zombies mode but with an otherworldly skin, the nine-year old in me is squealing in excitement at the prospect of ALIENS!!! I really hope Infinity Ward has looked into appropriate influences if they really are making this thing a reality, by which I mean games such as Natural Selection 2 and the Dead Space franchise and not...that game.
Update: A new trailer has been released which confirms this. It will be a four player, co-op survival mode.

Freelancer, did you mean CHARACTERS, or MODELS? Because there hasn't been a single CHARACTER, male or female, in any of the CoD games. Or Battlefield, for that matter.
