I'm still undecided about Alien Rage. It looks like it could be fun, but the apparent linear design raises a 9.45 on my 'meh' scale. The newly arrived launch trailer hasn't done much to change that. But maybe it will for you? I mean, it looks pretty enough. If you don't mind an overabundance of bloom...like in every other game ever made ever. But it's all just so...meh.
The premise is classic sci-fi schlock. The kind that would create an explosion powerful enough to destroy a solar system, if it was ever exposed to something as unstable as an original idea. The voice over is cringeworthy. The linear design, despite being primarily a pre-rendered mini-movie, is still painfully apparent...and I can't shake this feeling it's going to have one of those 'unexpected' plot twists where it turns out the aliens are the good guys...or something.
So yeah, all in all, just meh.

Yeah, I seriously cannot think of a better word to describe it. It's like, it's even too much effort to actually say anything negative about it. It's just...just meh

And I think the devs are aware and intended it to be what it is. GMG is selling it for $15 US for preorders and $20 once it releases, so no one should go into this game expecting more than a quick romp through some alien baddies.
