2nd Dev Trailer for Skywind: the Morrowind in Skyrim Mod
Skyrim modding has gotten to a point where there are mods that can turn spiders into bears, give mudcrabs top hats, or make dragons look like everything from "Macho Man" Randy Savage to Thomas the Train Engine. That being said, no mod has been nearly as massive or ambitious as "Skywind."
While The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was set in the frozen Nordic tundra in the north of Tamriel, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind was set in a swampy and ashy wasteland to the east, and Skywind plans to merge the two provinces into one solid game.
Skywind isn't being made by a small scale night crew either, the team of over 70 official members including their 30 voice actors and is growing to include anybody with programming, writing, or voicing talent and plans to develop new quests, weapons, armor, creatures, music, and environments.
According to the first development trailer, "Unlike Morroblivion, its predecessor, the team did not want to just directly port the game into the updated engine," meaning that while Morrowind might look and act similar to how it did in The Elder Scrolls III, Skywind will also be planning brand new innovations for an updated Morrowind with original content.
"Moonpath to Elsweyr" and "Falskaar" may have beaten Skywind to the punch when it comes to adding new areas to explore in The Elder Scrolls V, but the size and amount of original content of Skywind is unrivaled in Skyrim modding. Now the only question that remains is whether Skywind can beat the quality of "Auto-tuned Bears," but I think it's safe to say that everyone already knows the answer to that.
