(Re)Birth Date Of A Realm

By Kelevandos24-05-2013

Square Enix has announced that its revamped MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will launch on 27th August 2013! It will come to PC as well as PS3.

The game is available for pre-order now and comes in two editions, Standard and Collector's. Those who decide to purchase any of them before the official release will get some bonus goodies:

• Early Access to the game, with no date specified yet

• Two Exclusive In-game Items – A Mog Hat (Kupo!) and a Cait Sith minion (basically a miniature)

And these special few who decide to purchase the limited Collector's Edition (yours truly included) are in for some greater treats:

• Unique Box, with the graphic designed by Yoshitaka Amano, the person behind (almost) all the great logos in the series

• Art Book "The Art of Eorzea –A Realm Reimagined-"

• "The Waning of the Sixth Sun", a special movie disc describing the lore events behind the changes in the game

• Four Exclusive In-game Items – Helm of Light (the Dissidia one), Coeurl mount, Behemoth Barding (turn your chocobo into a behemoth!) and a Baby Behemoth minion

• "The Sounds of Eorzea" soundtrack disc

• Five Art Cards, with stunning, high resolution graphics from the game

• Themed Security Token, which will allow you to further secure your account

Standard Edition for PC is priced at $29.99 in both boxed and digital version ($39.99 for PS3), while the limited Collector's Edition will cost you $69.99 for a box, $49.99 for a digital copy (really, who would buy these?!) or $79.99 for PlayStation 3. These are astonishingly good prices for a special edition, compared to GTA V for example. Make sure to grab yours while its available, as my bet is the stock won't last long!
