Like Poetry To One’s Ear: The Road Not Taken
Spry Fox, the team behind popular app Triple Town, are working on a new game called Road Not Taken. The game takes its title from the poem of the same name by Robert Frost. The game will be about "life and loss" and will be a roguelike, not totally dissimilar from Klei's Don't Starve.
Designer Daniel Cook, in an interview with The PA Report, elaborates on this, saying, "One thing I love about roguelikes is that they provide almost a pointillist form of world building. Each object behaviour [sic] and visual is an opportunity to point a little bit of paint on the canvas. And together, over dozens of playthroughs and interactions, the bigger theme is revealed." A bit like life then. And loss.
