We All Saw This Coming
Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut, a game I have been looking forward to playing an embarrassing amount, will be getting a release on Steam and it will be available from the 31st of October. I'm not sure what else I was expecting.
The survival horror game owes large a debt to David Lynch's television series Twin Peaks. The game follows FBI special agent Francis York Morgan (though everyone just calls him York) on his adventures in the little town of Greendale as he tries to solve the murder of Laura Palmer...uh, I mean, Anna Graham. The player controls York though York identifies the player as 'Zach', a mysterious entity whose advice York will follow without question.
Console gamers got their own director's cut in April and this edition added improved controls (because goodness knows the original release needed it), updated visuals and more story. These additions will all be present in the PC release alongside some exclusive DLC, Steam achievements and trading cards (oh goody).
Upon first releasing, Deadly Premonition became notorious for its roughness though it gained a cult following through its story and its characters. This following undoubtedly helped it get through Steam's Greenlight process.
