The War Cometh: Valkyria Chronicles On Its Way to PC
And it brings with it its quasi-World War II setting, taking shape in the form of a tactical RPG. Originally exclusively released on the Playstation 3 in 2008, it was hailed at the time for its story, art direction, and most tellingly, the take on the strategy RPG genre, where it removed the fairly standard grid-based map in preference for more free-flowing, natural action. After release outside of Japan, many petitions sprung up for a port to the PC, or at least another console, not dissimilar to Operation Rainfall.
Six years later, those gamers have finally had their wish realized. A tweet from SEGA confirmed the rumor floating about earlier this week, after a rating on PEGI's website (since removed) was discovered for the game on PC. Today, however, the listing appeared on Steam with a release date of the 11th of November, touting a Teen rating as well. SEGA was gracious enough to price the game and all DLC included for 20 USD, and if this sort of thing interests you, it looks like it's worth keeping an eye on to see if the port is decent.
