The Executioner Within
To the oh so familiar opening of Claire de Lune, we return one last time to the world of additional content for The Evil Within, this time featuring playing as the mysterious Keeper, Executioner, the big daddy of Evil Within, or whatever you want to call the guy with the safe on his head who spends the entire game laying traps and trying to hammer in your skull.
From what it looks like in the trailer, this DLC will be...unorthodox in its approach to the horror that was in the rest of the game. While Sebastian doubled as a living, walking arsenal, The Keeper has to rely on his trusty hammer, traps, and apparently a chainsaw now, to face his nightmares. That's not the only swerve in this DLC package though, since apparently this DLC will have a heavier focus on arena combat than progression through environments.
"This third and final add-on for The Evil Within places players in a series of battle arenas all from the first-person perspective of The Keeper....Set in the Manor House of the Victoriano Estate, The Executioner features first-person melee combat combined with exploration and discovery as players unearth the story of a man forced to become The Keeper."
The Evil Within had a life-span longer than most single player games do these days, and it's sad to see it go, but at least we get to see the story behind one of its most original and popular antagonists.
You can expect to see the Executioner DLC come out this week on the 26th for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
