Brothers: A Tale of Co-op
So it was announced some time ago that Starbreeze Studios were currently making Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. At the time there was some speculation about multiplayer co-op and, with apologies to Leigh, it seems that those speculations were wrong. The YouTube video linked above features game director Josef Fares showing us that Brothers is actually a single player co-op game, with both brothers having a different control scheme on the one controlling device. There’s a separate video showing off the Xbox controls, but no sign of how this system will work on a keyboard and mouse at this point.
It’s certainly an interesting idea, and we’ll find out whether or not it works come Spring (or Autumn). In the meantime, I’ll leave you with this quote from the game’s website:
“Guide two brothers on an epic fairy tale journey from visionary Swedish film director, Josef Fares and top-tier developer Starbreeze Studios. Control both brothers at once as you experience co-op play in single player mode, like never before. Solve puzzles, explore the varied locations and fight boss battles, controlling one brother with each thumb stick.”
